The Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (Court) satisfied the appeal of the Competition Council and annulled the ruling of Vilnius Regional Administrative Court, according to which the Council was obliged to conduct an additional investigation regarding the merger of the Estonian managers of classified ads.
Having considered the amendments to the Law on Competition (Law), the Council revised merger notification and examination procedure, which takes into force from January 1, 2018.
The Competition Council cleared the acquisition of 40 per cent of Baltijos polistirenas shares (together with the currently owned shares – 80 per cent) and sole control by Nordic Minds .
The Competition Council cleared the acquisition of 51 per cent (together with the currently owned shares – 100 per cent) of UAB Adnet media shares and sole control by the Estonian-based company AS Ekspress Grupp .
The Competition Council cleared the merger of the Finnish-based companies active within the construction industry Lemminkäinen Oyj and YIT Oyj .
The Competition Council cleared the acquisition of 100 per cent of UAB G9 Holding shares and sole control by the company Lords LB Asset Management .
On September 5 the Council cleared the acquisition of 23 per cent of UAB 1ClickFactory shares and joint control by the Netherlands-based The IT Channel Company from UAB Volternas and the Danish company Sfink Invest .
On August 23 the Competition Council cleared the merger whereby the Latvian company AS EuVECA Livonia Partners and the Estonian company AS LHV Varahaldus indirectly through Silver Screen Holdings UAB acquired 34,8 per cent of UAB Cgates Group shares and joint control together with the Estonian companies OÜ Polaris Invest and OÜ Com Holding .
The Competition Council found that UAB koncernas Achemos grupė implemented an unnotified merger by acquiring sole control of UAB Jūros vartai and AB KLAIPĖDOS LAIVŲ REMONTAS . For the infringement of the Law on Competition, the Council fined Achemos grupė EUR 54,700.
