CONCENTRATION PERMITTED FOR COMPANIES RELATED TO THE SALE AND PROCESSING OF WOOD
The Competition Council has granted permission to IKEA Forestry Investment to acquire 100% of the shares of Dasos LT Investment I and Kurzeme Timberland and, indirectly through the latter companies, 100% of the shares of Zemgale Timberland, Dasos LT Investment II and Euroforest 2 and to take sole control of these companies.
The merger notification was received on 28 January 2026. Having assessed the circumstances of the transaction, the Competition Council has concluded that the proposed merger will not result in the creation or strengthening of a dominant position or significant restriction of competition in the relevant markets.
The Swedish company IKEA Forestry Investment and its related companies (the Inter IKEA Group) operate in Lithuania, selling furniture, accessories, and food products. They also manage real estate, process wood, and manufacture wooden furniture.
Euroforest 2 sells roundwood and leases land in Lithuania.
The Luxembourg-registered limited liability investment companies Dasos LT Investment I and Dasos LT Investment II, as well as the Latvia-registered limited liability companies Kurzeme Timberland and Zemgale Timberland, do not conduct any activities in Lithuania.
The intended merger must be notified to the Competition Council and cleared if the combined total revenues of the undertakings involved in the concentration in the last year before the merger exceed EUR 20 million and the total revenues of each of at least two undertakings involved in the concentration in the last year before the merger exceed EUR 2 million.
