MONIKA RAŽUKAITĖ BEGINS HER TERM AS A MEMBER OF THE COMPETITION COUNCIL

Today, Monika Ražukaitė took up her position as a member of the Competition Council. She was appointed to the Competition Council for the tenure of six years by President Gitanas Nausėda, in accordance with the Constitution, the Law on Competition, and considering the nomination submitted by Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė.

M. Ražukaitė has extensive legal experience in both the public and private sectors. From 2011 to 2019, she worked as a chief expert at the Vilnius Regional Environmental Protection Department of the Ministry of Environment and at the Legal Department of the Vilnius City Municipality Administration, where she represented the public interest in civil and administrative cases before courts of general jurisdiction and administrative courts of all instances.

Prior to her appointment as a member of the Competition Council, M. Ražukaitė worked for six years as an attorney-at-law, specialising in competition law, regulated sectors, administrative and commercial law matters and disputes, as well as cooperation with public sector institutions. From 2019 to January 2025, she worked at the international law firm Eversheds Saladžius. In February 2025, she joined the law firm Sorainen as a Senior Associate in the Competition and Regulated Industries team, where she worked until her appointment to the Competition Council.

M. Ražukaitė holds a Master’s degree in Law from Vilnius University and also studied at the Faculty of Law of Ghent University (Belgium).

“I am pleased to join the Competition Council. I am ready to share the experience I have gained in both the public and private sectors while working on significant projects. I believe that this experience will enable me to contribute effectively to the Competition Council’s mission of ensuring fair competition,” said M. Ražukaitė.

The Competition Council is currently composed of Chairwoman Jolanta Ivanauskienė and members Žilvinas Klimka, Karina Kučaidze-Wencel, Monika Ražukaitė, and Irma Urmonaitė. Members of the Competition Council are appointed by the President for the tenure of six years, for no more than two consecutive terms.
