
PARLIAMENT APPROVES AMENDMENTS TO THE COMPETITION LAW
Today, the Seimas has adopted amendments to the Law on Competition related to the consultative function of the Competition Council and the procedure for the collection of fines and interest to the state budget in cases when the decision of the Authority is appealed to the court.

MM GRUPP MAY HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW BY TAKING CONTROL OF FORUM CINEMAS AND ITS CINEMAS WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE COMPETITION COUNCIL
The Competition Council has completed its investigation into the implementation of an unnotified merger and has sent a notification of a possible infringement of the Law on Competition to the Estonian company MM Grupp .

The Competition Council has not cleared the transaction by which the Estonian company Ekspress Grupp , which operates the news portal delfi.lt , acquired Lrytas , which operates the news portal lrytas.lt , and has ordered the company to restore the previous situation or remedy the effects of the concentration by selling one of the portals.

BUSINESS SURVEY: MOST COMPANIES ARE AWARE OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW ON COMPETITION, BUT EDUCATION IS STILL NEEDED

TWO SAUDI ARABIAN KINGDOM COMPANIES RECEIVED PERMISSION TO CARRY OUT A MERGER
Saudi Arabian Oil Company will be able to acquire a 22.5% share in Rabigh Refining and Petrochemicals Company (in addition to the 60% it already owns in total) and acquire sole control of the company. The transaction between the two Saudi Arabian companies was cleared by the Competition Council.
